Tips for playing Spring Valley Golf CourseHole 2 |

|
A medium size par three with a large green that is directly into the prevailing wind. The important thing on this hole is club selection. The green is somewhat deceptive in nature with a slight rise in the front of the green. This rise can hide the true depth of the pin position, and even without the wind it could be a one or two club difference from the front to the back of this green. With the wind in your face it could be several clubs longer. The green itself slopes from left to right with the lowest part of the green in the back right corner. The experienced player will favor the back right side of the green in order to have an uphill putt to the hole.
Hole 2 (looking down the hill)This could be considered one of the signature holes of Spring Valley: the tee is up on top of the hill with the green one hundred and fifty feet below. The prevailing wind is slightly from right to left but it always seems the stronger on this tee as opposed to anywhere else on the course. The hole plays directly into the wind but is also a great deal down hill, club selection once again is at a premium here. If you were to favor on side or the other make it short of the green. A shot that is long can easily bounce out of bounds, while one that is short might bounce on to the green. The green itself slopes from front right to back left with the lowest point being in the back left. This is deceptive dont be fooled by the mounding around the green. The mounding is shaped in a way that makes it look like more of an influence then it really is. A putt from the front of the green will break more or be faster than you might think depending on your angle.
